WORKSHOP / PLAYFUL PRESENCE
Every workshop day we will begin with tuning in next to the sea. Connecting to ourselves and the environment, we warm up the body through movements inspired by qigong, breath, short meditation, and swimming. Then we move indoor, finishing warming up the body & mind through different physical games, exploring rhythm, movement qualities such as range of body tension, playing between motion and emotion, working on articulation, different kinds of jumps, spins, and stamina work. Once the body is prepared, we will gently proceed to the second part with the focus on creativity, improvisation and composition leading to a final structure of improvised performance which will be presented the last day on 28 th of August outdoor in a carefully chosen spot in a beautiful city of Polignano a Mare.
Creative Process (laboratory)
We will work on different task-oriented improvisation, sometimes leading into material which could eventually be set or improvised, depending on the variousness of participants. We will work on different movement qualities, rhythm, musicality, group, and space dynamics. The laboratory is inspired by the research of the five elements (metal, water, wood, fire, earth) and their relation to our inner and outer life. Each of the elements has its own characteristics and associations with different aspect of nature, such as directions, season, colour, shape, and serves therefore as a rich source for possible group constellations and compositional strategy. My wish is to honour the place where we are and through our body, dancing and creation pay tribute to its ancestors, history, architecture, the surrounding nature.

HOUSING
If you are coming from out of the region, please contact us as soon as you can. We can work with you and our local networks to find lodging according to your needs and budget. Because summertime demand for rooms is high, plan to consider anywhere from 40 to 60 euros per night, or approximately 240 to 360 euros for the duration of the entire workshop. Contacting us sooner is always better in finding better rates. Shared housing is also a strategy to reduce housing expense, so please let us know if you are interested.
FOOD
Participants will be responsible for their own food. Each day, during a lunch break you can bring your own lunch, or there is a local café near the studio where you can order lunch.
GETTING TO POLIGNANO A MARE
The nearest airport is BARI AIRPORT (BA) or Brindisi (BR). There is a Polignano a Mare train station with service to Bari.
